Catherine Zeta-Jones, 53, is a beautiful and talented actress with an Oscar to her name. She recently took on the role of Morticia Addams in the new Netflix series The Addams Family, and she nailed it.
In the series, which is based on the beloved 1960s TV show, Morticia has a new challenge: she wants to form a strong bond with her daughter Wednesday. The Oscar-winner as a child acted in theaters in London’s West End, then moved to Los Angeles and became famous for her work in the films “The Mask of Zorro”, “The Trap” and “Chicago”, for which she won an Oscar.
Catherine Zeta-Jones told InStyle that she set out to create a new version of the iconic character: “I wanted to do something different from what had been done before.”
She focused on Morticia as the character of a modern mother facing many of the challenges of being an ordinary teenage parent—and it shows! “That’s really the story of Wednesday,” says Catherine Zeta-Jones. “I hope they continue the series so I can grow old playing Morticia.” We would love to watch that!
