Wednesday Pitch Meeting

Please tell me Velma pitch meeting is next

Had to pause and stifle a coughing fit of laughter after that first silly Wednesday joke. Caught me off guard.

(This induced a rant I have left below)

Wednesday, Velma, Sabrina, SheHulk, Kung Fu, etc.... All horrible pandering messes poorly co-opting prior art for the sole purpose of producing profit

I was excited for and watched them all hopefully only to be quickly disappointed.

And this norm in productions has lead to far more damage than people realize, it's not a minor issue.

When a group has been under represented and then all significant representation does so in a manner than Justifiably generates disdain/contempt/conflict or reinforces negative stereotypes (intentionally or not) while claiming to be doing the opposite, it will result in nothing but systemic harm and hardship for that group.

Not all representation is Good representation and when there are extant issues with group representation it behooves members and collectives of that group to ensure what representation they do obtain is utilized to it's fullest - anything else undermines demands on outsiders to take any efforts to provide otherwise.

The explanation of how Wednesday would have loved all the bad things is spot on what I was thinking. It’s so contradictory to her character

This video got me watching old Addams Family episodes. In the episode "The Addams Family Tree they find out Addams does have Brazillian ancestry, as well as Arab ancestry. Just cause Wednesday doesnt like annoying people doesnt mean she doesnt have a poor sense of justice.

After watching Wednesday, I realized that this generation can't follow a good plot. The writing was horrible in this show. There are so many holes in the story. I'm so glad the pitch meeting points them out. Wish he covered more, but he gets the main big ones

Mortician does say that Goody is from the dads side of the family in the show.

I love when producers get so excited about making money its so adorable.

IDEA PERSON: "So what if we did another Riverdale...but just put Wednesday in it and made it Addams Family adjacent?"

STUDIO: "How much money do you need?"

ME: "Sigh."

Another example of a 'franchise' being hijacked and being warped beyond recognition.

i have to say i enjoyed the new adams family series, but this also pointed out some mistakes though some of it can be explained away.

I'd like to see this guy make a pitch about that cartoon called arcane.

That's something me and my cousin's talked about after we watched her show "Why does Goody have the name "Addams" we also asked how after 400 years they'd still have the name Addams.

Actually, this was one of the best Pitch Meetings I've seen.
You managed to point out a lot more issues with this show, than anyone else, and in a super funny way.

This show was insufferable. Awful writing. A clear cash grab. Trash.

it was a good remake of Sabrina, (the witch one, not the romcom with Harrison Ford or the earlier one with Humphrey Bogart)

Well I guess I'm the kind of kid that liked the trend an then watched the show. 😅 I also thought "Wednesday is so cool and smart! And she accuses all the wrong people every time until she stumbles upon the truth... And every time she expects everyone to go along with her plans despite wanting to keep them from harm. Like "Stay safe and come with me to check out that monsters hideout." She also behaves like she could protect her friends but she is just helpless and lucky. 🙄 Somehow I still liked the series a lot! 😅

Wow. I haven't watched this show but you make it seem worse than I thought it was.

This is one of the best pitch meetings I've seen in awhile.

All the gorgeous Jenna Ortega in the world couldn't save this show from completely missing the point of the original.
